The CRM1P by ThorLabs is a highly precise cage rotation mount that is designed to accommodate Ø1" (Ø25.4 mm) optics with a maximum thickness of 9.4 mm. With its SM1 threaded rotation carriage, the CRM1P is engineered to deliver exceptional performance for a wide range of applications.
While the CRM1P is compatible with Ø25.0 mm optics, its use is only reccomended when centration of the optics is not critical. To secure the optic, the mount comes with an SM1RR retaining ring. It is important to note that a SPW602 spanner wrench is highly recommended for tightening the retaining ring. For optics that are thicker, an SM1 series of lens tubes can be screwed into the carriage for secure mounting.
One of the key features of the CRM1P is its smooth rotation mechanism that allows for manual rotation to any position. Once the rotation carriage is locked, the high precision and backlash-free micrometer can be used to fine-tune the position of the rotation carriage over a range of ±7 °. The Vernier scale provides a resolution of 5 arcmin between consecutive marks. When the mount is rotated across the entire Vernier scale, there is a cumulative error of up to ±12.28 arcmin.
For added versatility, the CRM1P is compatible with the 30 mm cage system and features an 8-32 (M4) tapped mounting hole that allows the rotation mount to be securely mounted on a TR series post. This design provides 360° of continuous rotation with a locking screw that fixes the position of the mount once the optic has been aligned. Additional features of the CRM1P include a 2° graduation on the dial that is labeled every 20°, and a 5 arcmin resolution provided by the Vernier scale.
