The KB75/M by ThorLabs is a superior kinematic base designed to provide high-precision positioning and utmost stability to optical setups. The KB75/M is composed of a top mounting plate and a bottom base plate, both of which are magnetically coupled using two pairs of high-strength magnets. With a holding force of 6.5 lbs, this base provides a secure hold for optical components.

The KB75/M has an innovate ball and v-groove design that allows for top plate insertion and removal with high repeatability. The top plate of this base has a central 1/4" (M6) counterbore, making it easy to attach a Ø1/2" post holder. Moreover, an array of nine 1/4"-20 (M6) tapped holes on the top plate provide the same mounting functionality as an optical breadboard. The KB75/M also features a specially engraved triangle on the top plate, indicating the high-load mounting region. This adds to the base's ease of use and ensures proper positioning of optical components. The dimensions of this kinematic base are 75 mm x 75 mm, making it a compact and versatile base that can fit into various setups.
