The ThorLabs KS1 is a kinematic mirror mount that is specifically engineered to hold optics with Ø1" (or Ø25 mm) and provide ±4° adjustment of pitch and yaw. With its superior mechanical design, the KS1 is built to achieve long lasting stability and optimal performance. Compared to standard two-adjuster kinematic mirror mounts, the KS1 incorporates stiffer springs and a thicker back plate, enhancing its overall stability. This mirror mount is equipped with lead screws made out of stainless steel and brass bushings, which ensures smooth adjustment, while its mounting holes allow for mounting to a post in either right-handed or left-handed orientations.
The KS1’s nylon-tipped setscrew holds the optic securely in place, while pretension screws minimize beam shift when locking. This precision kinematic mirror mount is equipped with 3 lockable adjusters that are 1/4"-80 TPI, which enable the ±4º adjustment range to be changed through the translation of the mirror mount’s front plate. To achieve a symmetric adjustment range (i.e., ±4°), the back and front plate should be placed with a 0.120" (3.05 mm) sized space. With the use of the three adjusters, this mirror mount can reach a 0.25" (6.4 mm) Z translation maximum. Made out of black anodized aluminum, the KS1 boasts #8 (M4) counterbored holes in two different places to enable mounting.
