The MB12 by ThorLabs is a solid and reliable aluminum breadboard that is non-magnetic and designed to provide a useful and practical platform for mounting subsystems that are small, managing an experiment, and putting a prototype optical assembly together. The MB12 comes with a black anodized surface that offers low reflectance, making it suitable for a variety of surfaces and mounts, including optical tables, other breadboards, and mounting posts.

One of the unique features of the MB12 is its through-drilled standard 1" hole pattern offset by 1/2" from the edges of the board. This allows for components to be mounted on both sides of the board at once. Additionally, the MB12 is 1/2" thick and has four different mounting holes located off-center from its 1/4"-20 (M6) threaded holes, making for a surface that is uninterrupted. On each corner of the breadboard, the four standard imperial mounting holes can be found inset 1” from all of the edges.
