The PH3 by ThorLabs is a standard post holder that is engineered for precise and post mounting with great stability. This high-quality post holder is designed with a square relief cut that is wide and provides contact through two lines. The PH3 has a spring-loaded plunger in addition to an aluminum thumbscrew that ensures that a steel post is held in a specific position before tightening is completed, allowing for post-mounted devices to be positioned with one hand.

The PH3 is designed for use with a 3/16" spring-loaded hex-locking thumbscrew, helping to secure the connection. To ensure optimal performance, this thumbscrew should not be tightened over a torque of 28 in·lbs (3.2 N·m). This feature ensures that the post holder is tightened to the correct level, preventing any unwanted movement during use. Additionally, the PH3 can be mounted to an array of mounting bases with a 1/4"-20 (M6) cap screw, allowing for a variety of mounting mechanisms.
