The RC3 by ThorLabs is a perpendicular dovetail rail carrier that serves as an advanced optomechanical solution designed to enhance a rail system's performance. With a 1.25" (31.8 mm) dovetail surface perpendicular to a RLA dovetail rail, the RC3 enables seamless one-dimensional movement of optomechanics at any position along the length of the rail.

Equipped with the RC3, the user can experience the coarse transverse translation of RC1, RC2, or RC4 rail carriers in the direction perpendicular to the RLA rail with ease. This revolutionary feature is made possible thanks to the precision machining of all surfaces of the RC3, which helps to maintain good lateral alignment even while being translated. What's more, the RC3 is designed to be a perfect fit for any existing rail system without requiring access to the rail ends.
