The RSP2 by ThorLabs is a highly precise and durable continuous rotation mount designed to meet the demanding needs of optical alignment and positioning applications. The mount is equipped with two high-quality precision bearings that ensure smooth and consistent rotation. The RSP2 aperture boasts internal SM2 (2.035"-40) threading that accepts a range of components, including Ø2" optics up to 0.51" (13 mm) thick, and any SM2-threaded components like a lens tube. The optic is secured using a compatible SM2RR retaining ring.
The knurled edge of the RSP2 allows for easy rotation, and a 360° laser-engraved scale marked at 2° increments allows for precise and repeatable positioning, as well as fine angular adjustment. This feature is especially useful in applications that require a high degree of precision, where even the slightest deviation can have significant consequences. The RSP2 is equipped with a top-located setscrew that can be tightened with a 5/64" (2.0 mm) hex key or balldriver to lock the rotation of the mount, adding an extra layer of stability and precision. Additionally, this rotation mount features a bottom-located 8-32 (M4) tapped hole for post mounting, making it compatible with a wide range of mounting options.
