The SM1E60 by ThorLabs is a high-quality extension tube designed to use light-tight beam paths to create optical subassemblies that are compact. This 6" long SM1 extension tube is specifically engineered to create greater distances between optical components within a lens tube system that features lenses that boast a large focal length. One of the key features of the SM1E60 is its thicker walls, which provide greater rigidity than other regular lens tubes while also sustaining the same outer diameter.

With a diameter of Ø1", the SM1E60 can be used to house one or several optical elements. The extension tube is compatible with SM-threaded retaining rings (with the exception of internally unthreaded lens tube spacers), which can be used to separate and secure optics within a lens tube at a specified depth through the use of a compatible SM1 spanner wrench. For optics that require reduced stress, stress-free and plastic retaining rings can be used with the SM1E60. This makes it a versatile choice for a wide range of optical applications.
