The SM1NR05 by ThorLabs is a highly precise non-rotating zoom housing designed to offer unparalleled positioning accuracy for compatible SM1 lens tube systems. Built with a double helical mechanism, the SM1NR05 moves the interior SM05 barrel back and forth while restricting any rotational movement. With a 17mm per revolution zoom housing, users can have unparalleled control over the working distance of an optical element within their system, making it easy to achieve the desired level of precision. To get started with the SM1NR05, users can mount a Ø1/2" optic that is up to 0.25” thick in the zoom housing and secure it using an SM05RR retaining ring. Once the optic is secured, the SM1NR05 can be mounted on any SM1 threaded lens tube or mount. From there, users can use the outer ring of the SM1NR05 to precisely position the optic with ease.
One of the key benefits of the SM1NR05 is its fixed SM1 threading on both ends, making it possible to attach it between two fixed Ø1" lens tubes while still retaining the ability to adjust the position of the optic.
