The ThorLabs TC200 is the ultimate benchtop temperature controller designed to optimize resistive heating elements up to 18 Watts. With its versatile capabilities, the TC200 is the perfect choice for general-purpose heating applications, including foil and resistive coil types. Equipped with advanced features, the TC200 offers a wide range of functionalities to meet precise temperature control needs. It accepts feedback from both positive and negative temperature coefficient thermistors, allowing for precise temperature monitoring. The programmable P, I, and D gains provide flexibility in tuning the controller for optimal performance.

The TC200 boasts a user-friendly interface that displays temperature readings in Celsius (°C), Fahrenheit (°F), or Kelvin (K), making it convenient for users from around the world. It also allows for up to five sequential temperature settings, each with associated ramp and hold times, providing precise control over temperature profiles. To ensure safety and protection, the TC200 offers user-programmable maximum temperature limits to prevent overheating of the device being heated. It also has a user-programmable power limit to prevent the heating element from being overdriven, extending its lifespan and ensuring reliable operation.

With the TC200, it can be operated in either NORMAL or CYCLE mode, depending on the application requirements. In NORMAL mode, the TC200 functions as a single point controller, maintaining the set-point temperature for as long as needed. In CYCLE mode, the user can program up to five distinct temperature levels, each with a ramp time to determine the temperature transition and a hold time to specify the duration at each step. The CYCLE mode also offers a convenient pause function, allowing the user to stop the ramp or hold timers at any point and resume the cycle seamlessly when ready.

The TC200 offers versatile connectivity options, allowing for standalone operation with its easy-to-use keypad interface. It can also be interfaced with a PC using a standard USB Type B connector and TC200 Application software, or integrated with LabView or LabWindows using a simple command-line interface from any terminal window. The TC200 also features an auxiliary output, specifically designed for use with a compatible glass cell heater, providing an unregulated output current proportional to the main output. This auxiliary output can also be utilized with other heater pairs, such as two compatible cap heaters with a glass cell, adding versatility to a heating setup. For ease of use, the TC200 includes a Hirose connector for reading the temperature of the heating element and supplying current, simplifying the setup process. It also comes with a 120 VAC power cord for use in the US, ensuring compatibility with a power source.
