The XT66P2 by ThorLabs is a rail carriage that serves as a versatile and reliable solution for mounting optomechanics on a 66 mm rail. Crafted with precision and attention to detail, the XT66P2 features an impressive array of tapped holes, including six 1/4"-20, four 8-32, and seven 6-32 holes, alongside a centered 1/4" (M6) counterbore. In addition, this rail carriage also features four counterbored holes at the corners.

The XT66P2 has the option to attach optomechanics to the rail ends, as well as the rail carriage itself. This rail carriage attaches seamlessly to a 66 mm rail with a side-mounted 9/64” (M3) locking screw. The clamping arm is then free to secure another 66 mm rail at a right angle, providing unparalleled versatility in a setup. The XT66P2 has a swinging clamping arm that allows for easy installation and removal of the carriage. This provides plenty of room for the carriage to be lifted off when loosening the locking screw, which allows for the carriage to be installed at any place on an exposed rail side. The rail carriage slides along the rail side with ease prior to the final lockdown, and the position of the rail carriage can be finely adjusted using a compatible rail platform positioner.
