The BFY600HS02 by ThorLabs is a highly durable bifurcated fiber bundle that is constructed from two high-grade optical fibers encased in stainless steel tubing. The BFY600HS02 is designed for optimal performance in the wavelength range of 300 - 1200 nm and features two high-OH fibers with a core size of Ø600 µm.

The BFY600HS02 comes equipped with three cable ends, each terminated with SMA905 connectors. The connectors on the breakout legs of the cable are specially designed with stainless steel sleeves that are engraved to indicate the fiber type in each leg. The sleeve of the common connector is also engraved with the fiber core size and numerical aperture (NA). One leg of the BFY600HS02 bundle contains both fibers before passing through a junction where the cable splits into two legs, each containing a single fiber. This cable is 2 meters long from the common end to the split end and can be adjusted to fit the specific needs of the user using the sliding clamp. The clamp is easy to lock in place with the 5/64" (2 mm) hex setscrew.

To achieve the best results with the BFY600HS02, it is recommended to use it with sources that provide even illumination when using the common end as the input. This includes LEDs with a large emitter angle or white light sources. In addition to its superior performance, the BFY600HS02 is compatible with three metal CAPSM dust caps that shield the connector ends from dust and other hazards. The BFY600HS02 also boasts compatibility with a high-quality FT061PS Ø 6.1 mm stainless steel tubing with black plastic sheath. This feature allows theuser to easily connect the fiber bundle to other equipment and expand its potential applications.
